Our Play Consultancy work is led by Paul Greatorex who is one of Play England’s “Strategic Enablers”. Our team includes play specialist Andy Wilson-Chalon, and GIS expert Graham Jones.
- Paul and Graham played an important role in the development of the Children’s Play Council’s Planning for Play – Guidance on the development and implementation of a local play strategy (2006)
- Paul has recently prepared a Good Practice Briefing for Play Partnerships that will soon be available for download from the Play England website.
- We have extensive practical experience of developing local authority play strategies including both outdoor play facilities and play services.
- Andy is a Member (Annual Inspection status) of the Register of Playground Inspectors International Ltd. (RPII) and an approve RPII Trainer & Examiner at Routine & Operation Inspection levels.
- Andy had a lead role in developing the NPFA - Six Acre Standard – Children’s Section (1992).
We can help you to review and develop your local Play Strategy and Action Plan as well as monitor and evaluate your portfolio of projects funded by the BIG Lottery Programme.
We can conduct detailed audits both quantitative and qualitative of fixed play facilities and play services and help develop local standards of provision to maximise the potential of Section 106 agreements arising from housing development.
We can run workshops to aid the review and development of a local Play Partnership.
Leisure and the Environment are included on the Children’s Play Information Service (CPIS) list of Play Consultants. For an introductory discussion on any of the above please phone Paul Greatorex on 01387 820497 or e-mail Paul via our contact form.
