Countryside/Environment
We have experience of the development of Countryside Strategies and Management Plans for Nature Reserves.
We are able to advise Local Authorities on the management of countryside sites and, for example, produce option appraisals for management including direct management, devolved management to a Trust, and private management guided by a management agreement.
We are particularly interested in promoting the recreational and tourism potential of the countryside. In so doing we understand the importance of achieving a balance of such development with nature conservation, sustainability, and community concerns.
We can advise clients regarding the development, promotion and marketing of Walking and Cycling trails. We are committed to sustainable or "Green" tourism and as such will always consider the capacity of the countryside (and local communities) to absorb planned visitor use and the potential to maximise public transport access to such projects. Our methodology for trail development hinges upon the involvement of local communities and taking the opportunity to celebrate local distinctiveness.
Water recreation, and managing potential conflict between water recreation and nature conservation interests has been a significant area of work for us, and members of our team have been involved with groundbreaking projects and strategy development initiatives.
