Youth Facilities and Services
We have a particular commitment to promoting activity and facilities for young people. We have completed various contracts for clients focussing on facilities for youth such as Multi-use Games Areas (MUGAs), hang-out areas, skateboarding, BMX, graffiti walls, and outdoor basketball. We believe such facilities are all too easily overlooked in favour of formal sports facilities. If local authorities do not consider informal and play facilities for young people as a matter of priority, targets relating to reducing crime, promoting health, social inclusion, and ensuring a greater number of young people are active in Sport will all prove much harder to reach.
We have worked with local authorities and Youth Services (statutory and voluntary) to review youth activity programmes and services, and to produce Youth Strategies. This has covered holiday activity programmes, youth sports development, arts development for young people and countryside and environment activity programmes.
We have also worked on the development and management of innovative Rural mobile projects for Young People.
Finally, we have worked with local education authorities in helping to devise active Citizenship programmes and curriculum development in schools.
