Third Sector and VAT
We do what we do because we enjoy it and believe in its environmental, social, and community value. We have worked on research, evaluation, feasibility studies and good practice guidance projects for a wide variety of voluntary sector clients in recent years including Clubs for Young People, The Woodcraft Folk, County Playing Field Associations, Fields in Trust (NPFA), and Play England.
One of the advantages of the way we work (as a collective of small businesses and sole traders) is that we can avoid charging VAT where clients are not VAT registered - a major financial advantage to many smaller groups and organisations seeking our advice.
We understand the key role that local town and parish councils have to play in meeting the recreational needs of their expanding and changing communities. Changes in government planning policy and legislation promoting localism and Neighbourhood Plans have provided local councils with new opportunities for influencing development within their town or parish. However, these changes place additional pressures on councils to review community needs, and generate proposals and projects in relation to planning and potential development. We have developed a range of bespoke services to help local councils make the most of these new opportunities and powers. Our particular strengths are in:
*Village appraisals, community engagement and consultation*
*Funding bids - presenting them in the best possible light*
*Open space auditing and planning*
*Outdoor sports*
*Built facilities like leisure and community centres*
*Walking and cycling initiatives*
*Child and teenage play facilities*
*Ecology and protected species surveys (though our trusted partners) *
We can help with all or part of the challenge of identifying and promoting local initiatives. We can assume full responsibility for all technical aspects – or simply provide advice to the council on a periodic basis.
